Our Fashion Styles - Sapphire

Well, I think that people need to dress as they like. First of all, we need to like ourselves in the clothes that we decide to wear every day. I really like clothing because when I dress up I feel like I take care of myself. 

I am definitely not a tomboy nor a girly girl. I think that I am something in between. I prefer to go shopping than play sports sometimes. It depends. I like both.

I don’t wear too much makeup or braid my hair. I like my looks simple. I think that not having makeup and letting my hair loose allow my natural beauty to show. 

I started to look after my style in grade six in primary school. Until now I am trying to wear clothes that express my age and my body. I don’t really like to look older or younger with what I am wearing.

When I was younger I had a completely different body type. I was short and I had more weight than I should. In sixth grade as I said above I tried to lose some weight. Then there was a period in my life when I had my makeover. I became thinner and like that, it was much easier to find more flattering clothes for my body. 

I don’t agree with people who wear designer labels just to impress others. Those probably have better quality but it’s unnecessary to pay exorbitant prices or get brand names to get quality. Maybe if you do buy something really expensive, just once, like a brand name dress or bag for a special event, it’s acceptable. 

I think that it’s good for people to know what is trendy nowadays. Some of them might want to follow the trends and that would be the reason why they would get to know them. But I think that the people who don’t want to follow new styles would be nice to just know them. They might find something fresh that they would like to add to their wardrobe or just for general knowledge. Anyways fashion doesn’t compel someone to change their style every time that something new comes out. Fashion just gives options and it suggests.

I don’t really support fashion TV Shows because sometimes I don’t agree with the players or the judges and that makes me kind of mad. Also, most judges are absolute and because they are artists they don’t have a ‘’normal’’ and down-to-earth opinion about people's styles. Someone who thinks that he or she is a professional fashion judge might have an objective opinion but nothing gives them the right to judge others’  style. But it is also the players’ fault because they decide to take part in these games.  

Well, I really really like high heels because I think they give a woman a strong and self-confident image. Also, I like dresses but for my age they are not comfortable at all. I usually wear jeans and T-shirts or sweaters. I prefer booties for shoes.

Of course, we all need to wear whatever we feel confident and comfortable in. We definitely don’t have to make ourselves wear something that doesn’t express our personality just because someone else wore it.
